Hello Please could somebody suggest something I could try to stop my left upper eyelid from twitching?! It has been going on for 3 weeks now and is driving me mad! It feels like I'm winking at people, but nobody knows unless I tell them. I went to the Doctors yesterday and he said it will go away soon. In the meantime, I would be very grateful if somebody could suggest anything that I could try.

I get that alot, I heard it's because of tiredness?

Not sure how true that is. Maybe Squad can answer that one. You could try cold Tea bags or cucumber. I sometimes do this when it's really bad and it seems to help. (Why I don't know) But It is very annoying, you think everyone is looking at it.
I get it with tiredness and also with anxiety. I had a twitchy eye for about 2 or three months and it drove me mad. When I was prescribed muscle relaxants for a back problem the twitchy eye disappeared as well. No-one else ever notices, but it is no annoying.

Thank you so much for your answers. Will try the cold teabag tonight and buy some cucumber when I go shopping tomorrow!
Cause unknown ? anxiety, tension perhaps.

Cannot improve on the treatment that the above posters have given.

I found that a cold teabag on the eye for about half hour for a few days worked for me
My dear Carakeel had the same problem but it also started affecting muscled down the side of her face, she ended up seeing a specialist who advised an operation on a nerve, whilst considering this option it just went away.

so if it doesn't go away it can be operated on but I don't think that it is an option just yet, It will just go away eventually I suspect.

Try yoga to help you relax or listening to very calming music when you are relaxing, try meditating, I think its mostly about tension etc.

Good luck with this, I know how irritating it can be.

Thank you for all your answers. The twitch is worse now than when I first posted though. Have tried teabags and cucumber slices... even all mushed up! I don't feel tired or stressed out. I wouldn't know where to start at yoga Ratter15 but a good suggestion! So now off to stick a tiny piece of wet paper on the twitch for an hour (thanks onetoomany, will let you know!)

It's gone!!! For 3 whole days it hasn't twitched - I feel like throwing a party! The tiny piece of wet paper did work temporarily if you read this onetoomany! Thanks all
