best check the Dollar website. I'm guessing they'll swipe your credit card and take details should you fail to return the car. Any damage etc should be claimed/sorted via your CDW insurance.
GENERAL TERMS
Please note at the time of pick up the local supplier will require a security deposit to be left for the vehicle. This takes the form of an amount (minimum: Excess + Fuel + VAT) being blocked on the primary drivers credit card, (cash deposits, Maestro, Switch and debit cards are rarely accepted so please be sure to check with our agents at time of reservation if you require this facility). This amount will be returned in full at the end of the rental provided the vehicle is returned in the same condition as rented
Well find same applies with 9 / 10 all car hire. Refunded when is car returned
photograph the car all over when you pick it up so you've got evidence of any existing bumps and bruises - that way they won't be able to charge your card to fix them.
