low battery alarm

im on windows 7 and id like a better low battery alarm

the one i have is quiet and very easy to miss...ive changed the sound settings, but its still a quiet noise.
it also only gives me a few seconds to plug it in...and i cant seem to change that either

any ideas?

is there an app i can download?

If it's a system sound, you can change it to one you prefer. No W7 puter to hand, but it'll be somewhere in Control Panel. You should be able to adjust at what percentage the alarm goes off there, too. You could even record your own alarm!

It may be that the maker of your laptop has provided their own power management program. If so, you could consider turning this off and using the built in Windows one.
