Are there ANY (!) circumstances in which you would not stand by your real friends ?
If so ... what would be your idea of a "true friend" ?
Just wondering !

I might not desert them completely but I think blind loyalty is a fault in friendship and the sort of nonsense you have when you're 15 years old. If you want something to agree with you and always keep silent when you're being a tit then get a dog. Otherwise, if my friends are rude, obnoxious, doing bad (bnut not illegal) things etc (all of which I would like to add they're very much not!) then I'd tell them and expect them to do the same to me. A true friend does not let their friends behave in a manner unbecoming of them or that cause them to lose any dignity without telling them how they are being perceived. A true friend will point out that what you're doing/saying is out of order but still love you anyway and a true friend would never let a friend above a size 14 go out in hot pants! (I saw that the other day)
And if a friend committed a crime, especially something life daffy mentioned, then I would not hesitate in terminating that friendship as they're clearly not the person/friend I thought they were.
