Reported Questions and Site Upgrade

Good Morning everyone,

A lovely day here at AnswerBank towers - I hope it is as pleasant as this where-ever you are.

Just a few announcements for everyone:

We have a shiny new facebook page, visit it here: http://www.facebook.com/answerbank
What do you think? I'd like to add a few "apps" to it eventually, maybe a way to see latest posts or tracking questions. Anything you could do with on FB from AB?

We've also got a new version of AB on the way. Again this is mainly fixes and tidying-up, but there are a few individual pieces worth mentioning:

*You can ask a question from the front page
*You'll be able to jump to the last question on a thread, and see who posted on it last, as discussed here: http://www.theanswerb...s/Question921177.html
*New look search and question entry box
*Easier-to-read latest posts box

We also hope to have the subscribed questions fixed properly among other bug fixes.

The whole thing is looking pretty good. We should be able to roll it out during the week.

PS. My apologies to anyone who reported questions around 3pm yesterday, the reoprt system fell over for about an hour. It is fixed now!

of the 205 people who "like" the page, only 8 seem to be known to me..

I'll be very surprised if half of them are AB users..

I'd think that plenty of AB members would rather not want the rest of the world to know who they are on Facebook for fear of abuse or redicule either due to their postings on AB or any embarrasing questions they may have asked in the past.

Morning All,

Answerprancer - Do you receive and error message or anything similar? This is not one of the bugs on our list; you're the only user to have mentioned that they're not working thus far. Anyone else had trouble?

Sara3: "are you not going to give people an opportunity to say who they are on AB, on the Facebook page?" - In short, no. I think that would be unwise at this point. As for "how many members are AB members?" you're probably right, about 50% of the FB user who "like" it are AB users, although your system of "if I don't know them, they're not on AB" does have a few flaws!

Our techies are ill at the moment, so I am unsure when we can get the upload of the new AB started - it looks like it might have to be next week at this point.

Hi Ed.
What happens is sometimes when I post a Youtube URL in the correct window "(Optional) Enter URL", put one small line of text in the "Type your answer here" window, "submit answer", the post appears with just my small line of text and no Youtube clip.
I've double checked that the URL is complete and correct and it's the same.
Perhaps the problem is my end - some sort of browser (Firefox) issue that can be sorted by clearing my cache/cookies.
