It is a proper noun, but there was a new version of Scrabble coming out in July with new rules which allows their use.

Bednobs is right about it being a proper noun which always used to disqualify words beginning with a capital letter - but I'd heard too what Karen says, that a new version will allow proper nouns to be used. Is nothing sacred?! ;-)
