a tiny amount of superglue applied with a cocktail stick or toothpick, If you put the butterfy in the fridge for 5 mins. so that it becomes torpid then your attempts at prosthetic surgery might be more successful. You coul keep it in the fridge until you have decided on the best solution as it will go into hibernation of a sort. What kind is it anyway?

I had a wood wasp with a torn wing in my garden a few days ago,gave her some syrup and watched her wander off into the grass and 2 days later there she was on my doorstep dead.( It was the same one, same wing same tear) quite sad really.

I am now sitting here feeling sorry for a woodwasp who crawled back in her dying state to the front door to seek assistance of the kind person who gave her syrup :o(

Woodwasps have never endeared themselves to me before. I am reformed.
