The Home Office can issue you with an IS137 Travel Document which will enable you to leave the country:

no, you will not be able to leave the country without a passport. You will ahve to contact the home office
No, you won't be allowed to leave the country without a valid passport. It can't follow you, you have to produce it and be identified against it as you leave. Contact your Consulate a.s.a.p.
Nobody on answerbank can answer this for you. You need to contact the Home Office about your visa and the passport office about your passport.
A very odd question which i presume he knows the law and thinks he might spot a loophole! how have you got into the country as you are clearly not english and do not have good english skills
how do you know he is not english donna ?
Anne - from the context of the question nenavath sounds to be an Indian national, in the UK on a visa.
read the post. i am presuming unless he wants to pop on and inform us!! Read the first line ? '' Im presently living in Britain, and its been 2 yrs im here''

To the best of my knowledge there are no longer any passport checks on exiting the UK (only occasional spot checks for ID purposes and security pretence). Therefore leaving is possible except that there will be airline check-in hurdles and without a passport you are likely to be refused check-in - airline requirement including destination country's restrictions. You must be able to prove who you are, that you have a valid passport (and any required visa) to enter the destination country - without that no airline is likely to accept you. You best bet is to go to your embassy in the UK and obtain a replacement document - this depends on their rules and regulations. Without a travel document you will likely not be able to travel.
