My boyfriend was physically and unnecessarily removed for a bar. Four of us were sitting in the outdoor courtyard of a bar and we were asked by staff to 'drink up and move along', so we were drinking up. another bouncer asked the same thing not a minute later and my boyfriend said to him 'we have already been asked and that is what we are doing' in a very calm manner. the bouncer turned around and shouted repeatedly 'not another word'. my boyfriend was compliant and didn't speak. the bouncer walked off, and as we were about to get up 2 minutes later the same bouncer came back and said 'I'm getting really ruffled around the boa with you' and proceeded to drag my boyfriend out of the wooden bench by the arm until out of the bar. (which has left a big purple bruise) we managed to get the name of bouncer, but refused to give his us number.
Can I complain? Who can I complain to? please help.

What about the police or maybe even the manager of the pub where you were? Some bouncers love to just throw their weight around, bullying idiots.
isn't there a 'body' who vets bouncers? hence the same uniform they wear, that is up here they do anyway
I think they have to registered now.
Go to the Police and have him charged-you have witnesses..You would if it happened elsewhere.Dreadful situation.
The majority of bouncers are just licensed thugs IMO.
blown up self opinionated tattoo sporting nutters...oh I needed that !
lol
Some are ok though...lol
I am pretty sure that bouncers now have to be registered with, I think, the SIA. (Security Industry Association). If they are employed as such without the neccessary registration the employer is guilty of an offence. Presumably they could be the persons to whom you should complain - but I go with the other answers and suggest that an official complaint of assault is made to the police.
I assume when you say ""drink up and move along" this was because they were closing the outside bit because of the time...or were they closing up the whole place?

a few bouncers are Salad Chefs, given a bit of power to stop people coming in, or to eject people.....most use that power responsibly...others will do it for no reason at all, sticking to one rule one minute, but then ignoring it a few minutes later.

I'd go back to the bar, during the day, and ask who they employ as door security etc. Nothing will happen though really. You put forward your dissatisfaction, they fob you off with some crap.

BTW What kind of bouncer says "'I'm getting really ruffled around the boa with you' "??
Jack, that's the AB censor at work - I think that one's 'pi$$ed off'
i am a bouncer. the reason we have s.i.a badges is so the public can see who we are.if a bouncer (door man) hurts anyone you can ask for there number and report them to crimestoppers.
p.s not all bouncers are bullys there are a lot ov nice bouncers out there like me. hope you get it sorted.
a bouncer pulled my mate downstairs once and ripped his hair out. But really too much hassle with all the procedures you have to go through to complain. I really wouldnt bother
