Hopefully "dothawkes31" will read my request! Following a link from this site I have now obtained the divorce file of my grandfather. It details that he was living in Brixton London in 1924 and in 1928 was a garage proprietor and living in Sydney Australia. He had committed adultery with the family maid, I have traced her birth details. Is there anyway to find out any other details of his life either in London or in Sydney? thank you

Hi Ninnynanny, you should be able to find him on ships passenger lists which may show who he travelled with. Did he die in the UK? he probably left a will and i could locate that quite easily,

Have you changed your name? If so it was you that traced the ships that he travelled on to Canada, but this time although I know both their names I do not know what ship they went on to Sydney. He died in 1973 in Australia, I found that on a BMD site for New South Wales, as I knew his last address. How do I find the ships' passengers lists?

They are on ancestry.co.uk but whether they cover the late 20th century I'n not sure, I've just checked the site and it's not clear but they may be on the .com version which i can also use,
