Computer video

When watching video clips on my laptop the picture freezes for several seconds before restarting briefly and then freezing again, and so on.
This happens to interviews and clips from websites and videos from my own "favourites".
This is a recent development and I am wondering whether Adobe may be responsible.
Has anyone had this problem and if so how did you solve it?
Many thanks for any help.

This could be because you have a slow internet connection (shared with another computer ) your computer is downloading other stuff simultaneously, or you are inadvertantly trying to run an HD display (which needs more gigabytes)
