I keep getting gritty deposits in my dishwasher all over the glasses and it dries in and is just about impossible to remove without soaking. I opened up everything and cleaned out everything and have tried specially designed cleaning products with no luck. I'm Stumped. Anyone help please?

SALT  !  It sounds as if you need to put salt into your machine. There should be somewhere to do this, usually in the bottom of the machine(inside). Check your manual for this.

Cheers! I'll give it a go
The biggest problem is with not rinsing the dirty stuff first. The worst thing to leave traces of on the dishes is mashed potato - guaranteed to coat everything with gritty bits.  (closely followed by rice!)  Commercial machines avoid this problem by having two sets of spray jets and two water supplies, but domestic machines require care and understanding.  (I have experience of both scenarios!)
first clean out your machine by putting two cups filled with vinegar in the machine, one cup on the top rack and one on the bottom. run the cycle like normal (no heat) and this will get rid of any soap buildup and then try with a full load and see if that helps
