My laptop wants to backup files and is asking me to Insert Removable Media. There is a white flag logo with a red cross on it. I have Windows 7. What CD/DVD does it want me to put in ? I dont have much to back up as I mainly use the internet, sometimes I use Open Office 3.2 and I have quite a lot of photos under the Pictures file. I am not technical so easy answers please. thanks all.

I would purchase a portable usb external hard drive about 320 GB for your backups. The reason for this is that Windows 7 not only backups your files but also an image of your hard drive which is handy should any thing happen and you need to restore it. You can turn off the backup program if you wish but as you you have photos a backup drive would be a good investment
Were you happy with my "you live in the same area as me" answer to your "what are you talking about" question ? and sorry if it freaked you out - just trying to be friendly.

BTW in answer to this, check how full your hard-drive is - you probably need to add a removeable HD.

Answerprancer yes you freaked me out ! Where do you live ? I am sure my hard drive isn't full - I have only a few Word documents and some photos. How can I switch off the back up ??
