Rainbow Rivers Quiz
7 Answers
I'm really stuck on the following cryptic clues to the names of rivers. They can be in the UK or anywhere else in the world. The number of letters is given in brackets;
9. Cash Ewan gave me is a nut - but it's Spanish (7)
24. Smack a lot? Sounds like it! (8)
25. Tottering around the Ginn Creek (9)
44. Sounds like a talking bird (8)
53. Role gem around (7)
59. This animal sounds a bit warmer (6)
I've found UK rivers that fit the clues to nos. 44 & 59, but they don't have enough letters.
I'd appreciate any help/hints/ideas. Thanks in advance.

A great idea, bows13. Thanks a lot.
I'll keep working on your idea, amadeusamati. I think I know what you're getting at and have already tried it, but I'll experiment a bit with different spellings. Here's a bit of help with a couple of yours;
4) The clue actually contains the answer. Try searching the words for a province that is often in the news.
5) The answer is an anagram of the first 3 words of the clue. It's a river in the former Soviet Union.
