Programme like Bonanza

I remember watching a programme that was a bit like Bonanza but it wasn't that and it is really bugging me that I can't recall the name of it.

It was set on a ranch, the owner was married to an Indian (american) woman and one of the children was called Blue.

Anyone know what it is please?

It says here that blue boy's mother was killed in the first episode by an indian arrow through the window. That must have been painful.

Yes Mark Slade played Blue Boy Cannon. It was on at 8pm on BBC2 on a Monday night and when the season ended Lancer was on instead. Victoria Cannon was the sister of Manilito Montoya played by Henry Darrow and John Cannon (played by Lief Erickson) and his brother Buck Cannon played by Cameron Mitchell ran the High Chapperal, my mum and dad went to see the High Chapparel just outside Tuscon Arizona in 1997 but apparently it had been burnt down.
Rudi Ramos played my favourite character 'Wind' in about season 3 when Mark Slade left the show.
That's about all I can remember, oh except the brother Sam and Joe who worked for the cannons were played by Bob Hoy and, errr, I've fogotten whoi played Sam now, he was in a few John Wayne movies.

I remember that this was one of the few shows to be shown in colour. When it first came out colour transmissions were only available on BBC2.

dotty, I went to see a studio Western village outside Tucson years ago though I don't recall anyone saying it was specifically used for the High Chaparral. It was all saloons and stables and so forth and stuntmen put on gunfights three times a day.

It had a fire after that, but they rebuilt it
