We want proper labelling for our food. Did you know that ALL beef and lamb imported into this country from New Zealand is Halal?
I don't have to eat it thank goodness, but I do think that it should be marked so others had the option of eating it or not. I believe that an animal should be stunned before it's killed, so it suffers less - what do you think?

"Anna Hill hears all New Zealand lamb and beef is halal, but isn't labelled as such"

Hello Mr docspock, I'm not Mercia, I'm her father. My daughter is very poorly in hospital at the moment with pneumonia.
I`ve seen huge holding ships off the coast of Western Australia which used to take live sheep to the Middle East. I always thought that the meat was exported live because the receiving countries like to slaughter it themselves, thus ensuring it`s halal (I think there might be some sort of ritual involved). Therefore, the meat wouldn`t be halal when it`s exported if it`s already killed and packaged. Maybe they do that now though but it didn`t used to be the case.
