Thanks Mrs C x
Karen, have you got anything planned for your day off? I like to stay at home and chill out on bank holidays .... the roads are always blocked up with traffic.
My daughter has come home from her dad's absolutely loaded with the cold, so I think it's going to be a quiet, lazy day watching dvds or something. That's fine by me, the road by my house heads right up the side of Loch Lomond and is chock full of cars on a holiday so I'm quite happy to give it a miss :)
A few weeks a go I went to Loch Fyne seafood restaurant, I think that's close to Loch Lomond. It was absolutely beautiful. My sis has a log cabin time-share on a golf complex (Cameron House, I think it's called).

We also went to a lovely little village called Luss. Do you know it karen? It was a super little place.
Ah, the Loch Fyne Oyster Bar? I've never actually been in but I know it well to pass. Cameron House is just up the road from me, they regularly let off fireworks which really annoy the dog :) Luss is the next village up the Lochside from me and where they filmed Take the High Road. It is a lovely wee place, but very much geared towards tourists - a bit shortbread tin Scotland if you know what I mean.
Several years ago, I camped in a site on the shore of Lomond. Nice place. Off a small lane, I seem to remember. Just a few facilities there.
It's a big Loch, there's quite a few campsites (if you mean tents) or there's one or 2 caravan sites I can think of.
I think it had some caravans. A farm gate into it then! On southern shoreline somewhere.

Probably quite near me then.
Yes, that's the place, the Loch Fyne Oyster Bar. The restaurant itself was pretty basic but the seafood was very good. I've also been to The Claymore Hotel in Arrochar (sp?) which was a bit run down. Very pretty scenery though.

I bet you get fed up with all the tourists. I used to live near Bedale in North Yorkshire and I could never get parked to do my shopping. It was a big problem for the residents. Still, it wouldn't have been the place that it was if it wasn't for the tourist trade. (Hope you know what I mean ... clear as mud!)

(Welsh, if you're reading in .... sorry again about hijacking your thread). Hope you are okay.
I do know what you mean, it gets quite annoying when the local pubs bump their prices up during the tourist season and things like that, but at the same time you get to meet lots of interesting people at times and there's the benefit of all that scenery :)
Yes indeed ..... a beautiful part of the world. I'd like to see more of it.
