Explanation for last one please. 16ac. Take Oscar in such old end of gaff(6).TH?OAT. It must be 'throat', musn't it? I don't see the word play or the definition. Thanks in advance for any replies.

gaff or fishing hook, just before the barb.
that = such, O = oscar , r = take (Chambers)
