Why are our troops in Afghanistan when the 'danger to British streets' seems to be coming from Pakistan.

In the hypothetical scenario of Britain and the US invading Pakistan, what would it mean to the thousands of Pakistanis residing in Britain.

I think the US military have also come to that conclusion. Only this week they chased the Taliban into Pakistan and killed 30 insurgents.

The aid and weaponry is coming from Pakistan as well as the insurgents and Pakistan is unable or unwilling to confront them. As we have over 1 million Pakistani immigrants in this country many of them are sympathetic to their actions and so we are fighting a losing war.

The problem is we are giving them aid so that it can be diverted into buying guns to kill our troops.

Whats noticeable is our generals delight in having a skirmish and to practice their arts. They then tell our politicians the war is winnable, which it's not.

I wonder how true that is ? Paistan has been the home of extremism for decades. There are several thousand Madrassas where youngsters are indoctrinated into Islamic extremism. Most of these so called religious schools have their own military training camps .
President / General Musharraf 1999-2008 who was supported by the US failed to close these camps.or take any positive action against them.
Since then some limited action has been taken in extremists areas but as reported by the UN both the military and the police frequently actually help the Taliban who have sanctuary in Pakistan.
So I think your statement # The Pakistanis are at least trying to get rid of them . # is rather optimistic.
