Crazy penalty. At what point is the ball dead?

Yes, the goalkeeper was pretty stupid here. The ball still counts until it stops rolling.
If a keeper gets a hand to the ball but it still goes straight in then it counts, and we see that quite often. The only difference here is the speed of the ball and also that it happens to bounce in front of the keeper after he got his hand to it.

Here's what the laws of the game say

"When a penalty kick is taken during the normal course of play, or time has
been extended at half-time or full time to allow a penalty kick to be taken or
retaken, a goal is awarded if, before passing between the goalposts and under
the crossbar the ball touches either or both of the goalposts and/or the crossbar and/or the goalkeeper
The referee decides when a penalty kick has been completed."

The referee would not declare the kick completed while the ball was in the field of play and still moving.
the ball is dead when the whole of the ball crosses the line, or when the referee blows his whistle
did anybody see the ball go over the goal line? apart from the goalie who obviously didn't.
