MM and KM Links October 2010 [Week 1]

We are now into October and it has rained here on and off all day. The Croft is a hive of activity as the final items are being packed for a week’s break on Tenerife, where we hope to catch the sun after our “barbeque summer” as promised by UK weathermen!? The alarm will be set for 04.00 ~ so there is a down side! With just a slight twinge of guilt I shall leave you in the (capable) hands of “Strix the Stargazer” ~ the man who puts the WIT into “tu WIT tu woo”!

It’s almost a year since we were last entertained by that “shining wit” (no Spoonerism intended) and I believe that he is our FIRST triple Links Setter. I shall be back in the UK and in harness late next Saturday for what I hope will be a seamless takeover (of the scoring procedure)! You can expect service as usual and games in the accepted format with the channel of communication opening on AB tomorrow at 08.45am and the four words to be linked should be posted at 9.00am, when MM Links kicks off in earnest. Remember ~ early MM hits gain bonus points!

As usual, I ask that you should also look out for the international version of this same game which is called KM Links and kicks off at a very early hour (which is difficult to predict precisely). Consequently, the timing of your posting is deemed to be irrelevant ~ only the number of hits you are able to register. The regular organiser of KM Links comes all the way from Oz ( Roo-land) and is my good friend, “seekeerz”. She is truly the “Wizard-ess of Oz”.

From personal experience, crofter, I'd advise setting three alarms for five-minute intervals and putting them at different sides of the room..... enjoy your break!

Enjoy your holiday crofter, we are off to Spain on Monday for 2 weeks so will probably miss out on a couple of weeks worth of linking.
I feel sorry for my daughter who went to Celtic Manor today as a special treat for her 40th birthday which is tomorrow. They saw one group play their tee shots and play was suspendered, they gave up at 2.00p.m. and got home to see the next shots on the TV. A very expensive day.
I shall raise a glass to her tomorrow.
