burning avi movie files to dvd disc?
I have a movie on my computer in avi format which i would like to burn to a dvd to watch on my dvd player.
I have managed to burn it once, but it only plays on my computer, but not on my dvd player, it just doesn't recognise that there is a disc in there at all????
Anyone any ideas how i burn it, to be able to watch it on my dvd player?
Thanks in advance :)

It looks like you just burnt the avi file to the DVD disc and most DVD players do not support AVI files, some do, look at the DK Range.
To convert an AVI to DVD use a program called VSO2VOB ( I think that is what it is called ), You have to create the VOB data and index files on a DVD for a DVD player to recognise it.
As regards DVD-R / DVD+R on DVD players you will have more luck with Ritek +R discs, as for PC Ritek/Traxdata/Arita -R etc will work fine.
