Why do parents etc take kids shopping and to church when they know they are going to create mayhem! Kids hate shopping unless it is for them and as for church if you have no one to look after them don't go, God will forgive you!

I thought Jesus was everywhere.......................?
..yes, so why lock him up in a box then throw children in? ;-)
I agree that other people's children are always badly behaved - but we have no option but to put up with them. Husbands are taken when shopping so that they can pay or carry the heavy bags.

However I never understand why anybody would take their dog shopping with them - the dog isn't going to become a delinquent because it was not taken out on family outings to the town centre.

Society, if God is here there and everywhere why can't he babysit and control the tantrum kids!
I think we are on the same wavelength Karen - I don't particularly enjoy it when parents don't suitably discipline their children when they are out, but I don't think that means that all children should be kept at home until they are 18 and deemed fit to inflict on society. I kind of agree with the shopping bit, but as people have said, it's not always avoidable, it 's the church bit that gets me puzzled. I don't live anywhere near family and I try to do my shopping in the evening when their dad is home to look after them, but not everyone has that option.
It's not so much taking them, it's bringing the children up NOT to create mayhem. I cannot understand parents who let their children chase all around the supermarket, I know other families whose children are perfectly happy to go shopping, but it's not a playground, and parents should - please - keep their kids under control, they need to understand where food comes from and that it has to be paid for. Church is a place for kids if you believe in church but again, it's about learning appropriate behaviour.

There are so few families with family support all around them, having a sitter etc is just not feasible or affordable these days, and in any case, shopping and worship should be family affairs. As for going to football - men eat the food, why shouldn't they help buy it?

Agree with boxtops, all about control and discipline, some parents turn a blind eye when their kids are creating havoc!
Now that's a different matter - why didn't you ask why people can't control and discipline their children the Oscarina? Leaving them at home isn't going to improve their behaviour, it just won't be inflicted on you.

Hikarenmac, why don't parents discipline their children! then we can all shop and worship peacefully!
Some do, others are idiots who want to be popular with their kids and are afraid to say no :)
I have to go shopping and push the trolley, then I end up packing and putting most of it away . . .
At least you don't have to pay for it Molly, or do you?
I presume you've grown out of tantrums Molly?
