After accidently breaking the screen of my Dell inspiron 1525 (with Vista), i attempted to put it into an external monitor. In doing so i had to turn it on and off several times before finding the correct function to switch the power into the external monitor. Now when i turn the laptop on i get to a Windows error recovery with two options Launch Start up repair and Start windows normally. On the option of Launch Start up repair, i end up with the loading screen after 20 seconds or so, it will go to a blank screen then after maybe 20-30minutes a cursor will appear, after than nothing will change. When choosing the 'Start windows normally' option i get the loading screen but the bar will keep going and never stop.

I should be able to fix this by inserting a Vista Disk, however either i've lost the disk or i didn't get one with purchase of the laptop, is there anyway i can fix this without sending it off to dell for repairs or purchasing vista a second time?

Thank you.

It gets past the loading screen then it stays on black screen.
Have you tried booting it into safe mode? (just keep pressing F8 as soon as you turn it on)
