10 Answers
Can anybody recommend a good hairdressers in central London / north west London? I went to my local place on Friday and they've given me the most boringest cut ever! (its not a very trendy place) has anyone here used Toni & guy? Would you recommend? Could you give me a rough guide on the price?! Thanks!

Any toni and guy will probably do a good job again price will be around 50.
Remember they have different levels of stylist, so if you don't care who cuts it it may be less, but if you want someone good it will cost more. if you want a re-style go for someone higher up.
When I recently lived in London, I used to go to Tommy Guns in Charlotte Road, EC2A, as did a lot of my work colleagues. They were always really, really good. The stylists were all hip young things, but very friendly and they always listened to my ideas as well as suggesting their own. They have a branch in Beak Street too (Soho). A cut cost about 40-50.
To be honest, I don't think Toni & Guy are all that- they are funky and young, but they are far too expensive for what they do. Regis are along the same lines but much cheaper. If you're looking for a cheap, funky cut, then there's a training studio just behind Oxford Street in London (on Eastcastle Street I think) - I think it's Alan D but can't be sure. They do great cuts and the price is really great.
I used to go to Toni & Guy in Covent Garden and always had an excellent cut. Cost about 35 (but that was 7 or 8 years ago now & for a bloke's cut) and was worth every single penny!
I did use T&G on Regent Street & also one near Bank tube station but really felt ripped off. On both these occasions though, my hair was cut by the so-called 'style directors' (I think that was their official title) and I think they just couldn't be @rsed to make the effort. Never ever came away from the Covent Garden branch without feeling I'd got me money's worth though. Never underestimate the destructive power of a bad-hair day!
