Prolonged periods on Dianette pill

Hi, I just started the Dianette contraceptive pill two weeks ago and have had prolonged menstrual bleeding ever since. My period would normally last 5-7 days. Is this normal?

yes, why is it an odd choice?? I picked it because I sometimes have spot breakouts and it's supposed to prevent spots :)

ciara. im not an expert, but read the instruction leaflet, asthis may be quite normal when first starting this medication.

Right.....I might be completely wrong but.

It´s contraceptive properties are purely secondary to it´s main function and that is for the treatment of acne.

Also it´s safety record is questionable.

But hey! just my opinion.

monsieur le docteur, i wasn't questioning your opinion of it being an odd choice, just wanted to know the reason for it. not being a doctor myself i am always interested to find out the reasoning behind the medication of choice for many things - bet my gp groans when i walk through her door.
your opinion on dianette sounds reasonable to me :o)

eth...she was delayed for 5 hours in Manchester, because some "prat" had left a note on the plane saying that there was a bomb aboard.

She has checked everything and NEARLY got a gold star, but just as the trumpets were sounding, she found that I had over watered the Bougainvillea.
