Just a guess - horse - as in "rocky" anagram of shore?

I have ROC for this, its a bird. Like you I spent days looking and thats the only thing I came up with

Except roc isn't a real animal - it's mythical. Seas just don't 'eagerly crash' anywhere, so it's likely to be in that area. And sea eagle seems the best, if inaccurate, guess.
