Now that Edna Savage....cor!!! I saw her live at the Savoy Theatre , Clacton-on-Sea once. (We knew how to live in them days)

Did we really have pop star called Edna Savage ? Yes,grandson, we did.

I have moved forward into classical...
My objection to the Savoy Operas (or should that be 'Operettas'?), Ena, was that my father had a nasty habit of singing excerpts from them, with no warning, in public!

When I was 14, I travelled into town with my Dad on the bus, knowing that a group of my school 'friends' were sitting on the back seat. At that age, even being seen on the bus with your Dad was embarrassing enough, but things got a great deal worse when my old man decided to give everyone a rendition of 'They Call Me Buttercup', rendered in a strong falsetto voice!!!
fred - I haven't heard her name in years - well done that man !
lol at buen.

Did we really have a singer called Edna Savage? Yes, grandson, we did.... or is my old brain playing tricks again?
Edna Savage? Sounds like a cross between Dame Edna Everage and Lily Savage!!!

Yes, my brain is going....
I'm sorry that it's taken you so long to realise that your brain is going, Fred. The rest of us worked that out a long time ago ;-)
I'm not over 50 or even 50 yet, but, I'll still add my pennies worth. :-)

I never had admiration for teen idols / singers neither do I relish celebrities.
Edna Savage now there is a blast from the past. I'd completely forgotton about her.
Question Author
who is she?????
Check out my link, above, Bobbi to hear what Edna Savage sounded like. She had a succession of hit records between 1955 and 1960.
Question Author
Chris I haven't heard of her at all..
Sorry, y reference to 'hit' records might be rather misleading, Bobbi. Wikipedia states that she only charted once (at No 19) with "Arrivederci Roma".
Question Author
OOOHHH I remember that Chris but by Deano,,:-)
