Well checking out the WhoIs info, they seem to be a subsidiary of O2 (they sell O2 network time). So, whilst you can probably get a good deal from them, I would say all the stuff in their "About Us", "Ethics" and so on is so much BS to give the impression that their a kind of "New Age" company, when really they they're part of an enormous multinational.
follwng on from what rojash said i read that giffgaff are totally independant from O2. Even though they own giffgaff they allow them to run on their own without interference. It also appears that everything from topping up to getting help is done online, with the website claiming an average response time of 3 minutes. you can talk to an "agent" for help or simply post a message on the forums or even go on facebook and ask them for help there. this looks like a good network.
