my daughter has just been told by the tax credit people that she died on 30th september and thats why she hasnt received any money! they said they had information from someone confirming it. omg she is, to say the least, a bit upset.
I went to my doctors a couple of years ago and was asked into a seperate room, was left for about 20mins before the police came in and questioned me about identity theft. My records showed that i was deceased!! Eventually got sorted when my old family doctor was eventually called in and he could confirm who i was! Apparently it was a computer glitch - not human error!
They would of had to of been given the information from the death register and something to back it up in paper/document. They can't just stop your payment on someones sayso!!
well either they have sandrajo or someone has played a very very sick joke on me... they probably would stop payments actually as it could take a few weeks for a death certificate to come through and they would have to carry on paying and it may be a nightmare for them to get the money back if i was dead
They don't just stop your payments, the only way they do is if you don't send your new claim pack into them on time, then they think you don't want to make a claim. It could be a computer error but still they would of had to have proof of your recorded death to do so, not just a call from someone to say you had died!! I'd go to the citazens advice, see if they can sort it for you as you will be owed money.
doesnt matter what colour you paint it sandrajo... at the end of the day they HAVE presumed me dead.... rather quickly might i add as it only took them 4 days to stop all payments
