Just out of curiosity, what, if anything, has filled the space left by Woolworth on your High Street?

And it would have been better if it went back there next to the car park instead of where it is now - if you dare buy more than a bag full of stuff you have to carry it right round town!
LOL, I can't even remember where Iceland used to be now! but I don't come right into Town very often at all.
Where Marks was next to George Yard car park
The one in Chelmsford is soon to be a(nother) branch of Barclays
Ah yes, of course it was, I remember now :)

Yep, Because Chelmsford hasn't got enough banks in it already! you can hardly walk round a corner without bumping into one!

(We have just had the best shop name I've seen for ages open in Coggeshall ..... "Fork 'andles")
He he lol I haven't been to Coggeshall for ages - I used to love Goodies and err...Crystal Clear?

I think there's a fork 'andles in Maldon too
99P shop
We've got a nice big Peacocks in the hole where Woolies use to be.
We never even had a woolies - all we've got are charity shops, bookies and hairdressers'
the factory shop is where the chepstow branch used to be
Ours has just become a Peacocks - went in there today and they seem to have made it smaller.
It was Ethel Austin for a while, but since that's closed down now too (boo, hiss) it's a crap clothes shop called "Posh"....yeah right!
First Au Naturelle, now Poundland. Or world. It's a good enough shop.
Here in Southend it is now another T. J.Hughes.
Great for browsing, ok for stocking fillers for xmas.

jem
In Hereford, we've been blessed with a Peacocks...
Actually the now famous Wellworths started by a Woolworths member of staff and opened by Chris Evans.
We have B & M bargains now. Most of it is cr%p, and the schoolkids queue to go in there to nick their lunches. (nuts, sweets, crisps etc)
