So, has my iPod mini had it's day?

When it's in the menu system it just turns off by itself, BUT if I quickly open 'shuffle songs' to make it play and strangely doesn't turn off by itself.
ALSO, warranty, I just bought it Feb05, what factors void the warranty?

It's well under a year old, so if I were you I'd be getting onto either Apple about it or contacting the retailer from whom your purchased it (since they're responsible for this under European law if I'm not mistaken). You'll want either a free repair or a replacement.

I'd get in touch with Apple, but you should also try the discussion boards on the Apple website (http://discussions.info.apple.com/ - go to the iPod seciton obviously!), there're lots of very helpful people on there who might be able to suggest something less drastic than sending it away or calling an expensive phone line.
