Printer Status Pop Up

I have a HP Photosmart C6100 connect to my work laptop. Had some problems this morning connecting to server so our tech guy fixed it remotely but since he has done that I keep getting a pop up saying the printer is connected, then 5 seconds later get one saying disconnected and it is popping up litterally every couple of second. I know it is working as I've tested it, I just want to stop the status popping up in the corner as it's really irritating. How can I do this? Don't want to call tech guy again unless I really have to.

disconnect the printer, turn the computer off, re-connect printer and turn computer back on.

You probably can't do much else yourself as you probably don't have administrative rights on the computer. So if resetting it doesn't work you'll probably have to call IT.

Thanks Chuck, that seems to have fixed it. Don't enjoy calling our IT support company, as everything has to be done remotely it always seems to take forever.
