I have recently bought a slow cooker from E-bay without instructions. I am familiar with the principles of slow cooking but my question is will the slow cooker dish go under the grill without breaking or crazing?
I have a yen to make something like Lancashire hotpot but would want to brown the potato off under the grill.

Thanks in advance.

I wouldn`t risk it personally. Mine says it`s not to be put on the hob or in the oven so I wouldn`t risk the grill.
Couldn't you cook and grill a layer of potatoes seperately then put a few on top of each potion as you plate it up?

Actually that sounds a doozy of an idea to me!

I think you're right 237SJ, if it says no hob or oven I won't risk it. There are always other dishes to cook.
We have a Tower slow-cooker (removeable pot) which says (just checked) that it CAN be used in a preheated oven or under a grill - but no SUDDEN changes of temperature.
