Can you make photocopies...?
14 Answers
Hello quizzers!! I have just found out about the rules of making photocopy entries for the Crosswords in the following newspapers.
The Express and Sunday Express.
I was interested to know about this matter and decided to send an email to The Sunday Express newspaper, and had an email back telling me the answer to the threaded question.....Can you make photocopies of the original Crossword entry coupon, despite if the photocopy is a very good copy?
Apparently, they tell me that this method of entry is 'disallowed'!!!!
So, now you know, and I just thought that all of you would like to know the rules of using this method.
I have to admit that I have done it just a few times, but didn't win anything, and I've now decided not to buy these newspapers anymore. Save my money anyway!!

But, my mother likes reading this one as well, and I DO like solving and completing the Sunday £1,500 Crossword.I actually DID win once on this great crossword, and I was absolutely over the moon when I saw my name in print.I had to wait a little while for my winning cheque to come through the post though.

If you think about it for a few seconds, copy - copy - by the way
There are magazine/paper that DO accept photocopies.
I photocopy every crossword so that I can check the following week or month.
What really is the problem? unless perhaps you want to pass the mag/paper
on to someone else, there again photocopy and enclose to your friends explaining
that you have sent the original in - you could occasionally put their name &
address on, you know what they say what goes round comes round.
Good luck

Alexanderd I truely hope that you win something soon I've noticed you do answer a lot of question. I have sent the MOS in for years and never won but it fun doing and
even at my agfe I am enjoying learning.
I have won other comps but then I would put a friend or family name so that they
would have a chance of winning, giving pleasure to others - well we are all only in
this world for a short time

Just to add on this thread, on the kind of equipment I have to make very good quality printing.
I make my photocopies on an Epson Stylus PHOTO R340 printer, and it certainly does make exceedingly good copies!!! Although Epson catridges can be expensive,I now use cheaper compatible cartridges from a very good supplier!! :-)

I once won the SatTel gen knowledge about three years, and once the skeleton but nothing since. thought everyone knew that photo copies of any crossword is not allowed.
Two out of my seven weekend crosswords put a friends name who runs the Shar Pei Rescue cos its all voluntary and she deservs any help she can get and DR £500 I put a pal's name who lives in Scotland [ but an english stamp so it gives the game away I suppose !] should she win we will go halves a I have yet to see an english address for the winner !

I have never sent in a photocopied form, but I've often wished I had photocopied the crossword to complete it in draft form, and then copy it onto the original - it would save the mess I occasionally make! As in this week's Sun Express £1000 - I started to put in an answer I thought I knew, and then realised it was 2 letters longer than the correct answer! Talk about daft!
