Just arrived now. I think it's rather cheeky. I won't bother typing the whole lot but...

Building work in Voluntary Aided Catholic Schools is paid for jointly by the Government and the parents of pupils at school (news to me!) 10% of the full cost must be funded via parents or fundraising. The Diocese has asked the school governors to raise the 10% so that the burden no longer falls onto the parishes.

The estimated cost is 700k and must find 70k to meet our contribution. Please help by giving an amount monthly, quarterly or annually over a three year plan....

THEY CAN FCUK RIGHT OFF....

That won't happen Craft.

All this building work is due to the town having to change form a three tier system to a two tier system. I was against the change. I don't think 11 year olds are ready to be going to school with 16+. Plus my 12 years old has spent the last 3 years of his schooling life in various building sites....
Are the changes still happening Ummm now the BSF programme has been cut? I know it's caused chaos in Suffolk which is going from a 3 tier to a 2 tier.

Yes...still going on although I think most of the dirty work has been done.
how many families share the bill ?

Has the school a PTA to organise fund raising ? We did it for indoor swimming pool.

I don't know how many pupils attend anymore. When I was there it was app 1,200.

Do you not think that a swimming pool is a luxury though? That kind of thing I wouldn't mind giving to.
Pools are essential & life saving. Council pools were not avaliable as necessary due to their own agendas. We raised monies for a gym on top of £24pa/child school fees.
They used to do stuff liek that when I was at school too... I believe my mums response was much the same as your own.

We have council pools that are free on certain days for anyone still in full time education.

I think the clue to the letter might lie in the term, "Voluntary Aided Schools". No doubt there are other state schools in your area where you would not be called upon for a penny. You can always withdraw him and place him in a non-aided school, whereupon you can tell your parish priest to "FCUK RIGHT OFF!", as you so eloquently put it.
