Transfer of Funds (NatWest account - NatWest account)

Hi, not sure if anyone can help...
I'm due to complete on my house exchange today, and transferred £10,000 (the maximum) from my account to my solicitor's yesterday, and the remainder today.
I rang my bank to check that it would go through the same day, and they said that any amount £10K or over would take up to 3 working days. I asked whether a transfer of £9999 would have gone through immediately, and he said yes (shame they don't tell you these things before you make a transfer).
Basically, I'm wondering whether anyone knows of a way around this, so I can complete today?! I don't have any more money - not that kind of amount, anyway (the deposit's already come out of my account) - but do you think I could ask for some kind of bridging loan from NatWest...I'm prepared to beg them, at this point!!

I just rang NatWest again, and spoke to someone else (to discuss your suggestion), and they said that the £10K had gone into my solicitor's account yesterday, and the remainder would definitely go in today! Haven't got a clue which of the NatWest peeps to believe, so will probably just have to wait 'til my solicitor calls me now - fingers crossed!

Thank you! Just a quick update - my solicitor rang me on Thursday morning to say that it had gone through - lots of panic for no reason at all :/

You're really lucky Kat. Went to put some money in my daughter's account yesterday and the blasted place was shut!

For future reference, faster payments, ie: immediate same day payments are not guaranteed, for £10K, £9999, or £1K. The only way you can guarantee a same day payment is by sending the money by CHAPS, for which the charge is between £20 and £30, depending on the Bank and whether you want the recipient to have an advice from their Bank. CHAPS payments cannot be made over the telephone as you have to go into your local branch to sign the forms.
