Sally had her first (small) taste of fireworks the other night...it was just a few booms and bursts over a 5 or ten minute period.
She disappeared upstairs, and when she ventured back down she was hot, panting and trembling. It took almost an hour for her to get settled again.
Any advice as to what I can do for her...last night I decided to to start putting Rescue Remedy in her water-had some positive advice on it on another forum.(And it has worked for me...)
Vets version is good, Feliway is good for cats. I just keep mine indoors in the evening for a couple of weeks from the end of October (as I did for Halloween when I had a black cat) - just polishing up the old litter tray as I speak.
Rescue can be used for both animals and us humans. I also checked this on the lurcher forum that I go on.
I'd like to know if there is anything else other owners of nervous dogs can suggest.
pasta how many drops do you put in the bowl of water, i may give it a try. i have used DAP collars easily available on the internet, my friend has ordered the spray to use in the run up to bonfire night.
I can't put anything in my cats' drink, they only drink out of a shovel in the garden, if I put a bowl indoors they ignore it - they wait until I am running the tap then jump up and grab a mouthgul.
I put 5 drops in a very small bowl of water.then she may get enough in one go,as she is not much of a water drinker.
Boxy-cats are way more creative than dogs...and they just have to be different... ;-)
