this may sound like a stupid request but i have to do a debating issue for an essay and i have strong opinions on sport esp footie and athletics. wondering if good idea or not to find alot of information to research

You will always acheive better results if you talk about something you have an interest in.

football and athletics are big subjects with a lot of potential discussion points, maybe you need to find what particular element of athletics and football you wish to debate and target your reseach to suit.

Agree with Cazzz - You need to find one aspect of your chosen subject and concentrate on that.

If you do football it may be hard to do an original topic but you could possibly do an original take on the existing things.

Athletics may prove to be more original in topic but not as interesting to debate.

In either case if you have opinions already then possibly you may not need to much reasearch though it as always worth checking any facts and figures that you may use to emphisise your opinions - Remember to name check your sources.

thanks everyone we had to come up with a imaginitive topic not to do with capital punishment, abortion etc which are usually discussed. Was trying to find something that would take an interest and thanks to you i have go more of an idea.
