Antony and the Johnsons

I'd heard of Antony and the Johnsons before but never paid much attention.After hearing them on the Mercury prize 2005,I thought I quite like this!.I've just bought the album,I am a bird now and I'm Blown away,what an amazing album.The songs are really from the heart.Silly question I know the album is about his life and inside the front cover of the CD there are "childrens letters from a medical journal on hermaphrodism and sex reassignment"Is he an hermaphrodite or had a sex change???I only ask as there a many references to his sexuality throughout the album.

MANY references!!!??? That's an understatement Witchy. I too saw him on Mercury and then listened to the album. I'm not sure that it's an album that I could play over and over. I find it more angst-driven than haunting (as it has oft been reviewed). I do find Fistful of Love very strange. What do you make of that one?
