Microsoft Outlook 2010 ---- IMAP Server

Have been using Outlook 2010 for several weeks, without error.

Today got error,

"Microsoft Outlook....Your IMAP server wants to alert you to the following:
web log in required: http://mail.google.co...ns.........(failure)"

However, when I enter the password, which I have confirmed is correct, it just comes back with the same message no matter how many times I restart the programme or restart the PC. It makes Outlook impossible to use

Any ideas?

Make sure you've not got outlook set to check mail too often, google will lock your account if you are regularly checking it more than every ten minutes.

if that's not the problem you may have to re-verify the account here.

I changed the time to ten minutes, left it for an hour, and the problem went away.
