Wind power in the uk

Ok so solar panels would be pointless here, but we do have a lot of wind so why have we not got more wind turbines everywhere? Cost of building or eyesores that would spoil the scenery?

its because of NIMBY (not in my back yard)
people are all for renewable energy but as soon as the government try and build anything near where they live people instantly start complaining
and also sandyroe your only about 50 years behind the rest of us
with new wind power technology a single wind turbin can generate 8,760 MW·h on average. wind turbines cost around $3.5 Million and will make on average £2,278.08 a day. A wind turbine typically lasts around 20-25 years so... one wind turbine turns over £20,274,912 in its life so makes a profit of £16,774,912

if your talking comertial they cost £35,000 and last about 15-20 years (depending on how you treat it) and will make you about £20,000 if the government keep up thier clean energy scheme, where you get double your tariff for the electricity that goes back into the national grid
