How much cheaper than £50 do you expect to find a 3tonne trolley jack for?

This gets good reviews http://www.tool-net.c...clarke-ctj3000ql.html

Dunno about postage though.
You are going to have to pay a realistic price for quality tools madmondeo. Cheap tools just aren't worth wasting money on - and in the case of a jack they can be downright dangerous!

One of the first lessons most youngsters learn when they get their first car is to never buy cheap tools. Buy the best quality items you can afford and, not only will they do the job intended, but they'll last a lifetime. Spend the money and buy yourself a decent jack.
Clarke or Draper is about the lowest I would go.
Draper preferably.
i got mine from halfords and it's done fine so far, touchwood, i got a lifting set which comes with axle stands aswell, (i would definitely recommend using axle stands, it's not great to be lay under a car and the jack gives way!) cant remember how much i paid for the set but i know it was pretty cheap, depends how much use it will get, if its for everyday use, then go with something more heavy duty but if its just used every now and again then the set i have is good. :-)
