Mad over Fifties Club

The Club is now Open.

Good evening all.

It has come to the attention of the Committee that the electricity bills for these premises have increased to enormous proportions. They are now electricity williams.
Consquently, they have asked that members ensure that all windows and doors are closed to prevent draughts and that all unnecessary lights are switched off.

Candles have been provided in various convenient locations, but members must provide their own matches.

The chimenea is no longer in use. Those wishing ciggy breaks must make their own arrangements with coals, shovels etc.

Tonight's raffle prizes, appropriately, include

a fleecy blanket (some dog hairs)
a hot water bottle cover (pink, knitted only one hole)
half a pair of blue bed socks
half a pair of orange bed socks

Any further prizes will be gratefully received.

Miss Alex, under normal circumstances we would invite you to lunch at Hassop to repair a once hopeful friendship, but as your apology was very late in coming (after most had retired) and rather reluctant and may I also say somewhat insincere, the invitation will not be forthcoming. I look forward to monitoring your posts in future. I trust you will have no objection to my posting your apology on chatterbank tomorrow???.. Prudentia.

Prudentia - I was implying nothing. docspock was trying to wind you up earlier in the week - I hate that sort of behaviour with a vengeance. There is no call for it. If people feel that strongly (whether a wind up on their part or not) they should just turn their attention away from it. I am sure that AB was never conceived to fulfill such small egos. I know I know its very late but I've hardly had a mo to myself tonight.
I've cleaned up hot chocolate spilt on my new carpet, tomato sauce from conservatory floor, tooth paste on the loo seat & mud from kitchen floor tiles,
You've probably guessed it 'the sprogs are staying the weekend'
I hope you all had a good evening I was thinking of you, I was really hoping for a chat but as I approached the gates I saw the last of the lights flicker out, (has Lady A run out of bulbs) I had a delivery of those new fangled ones I'll bring some next week..

So I'll say nighty nite folks, perhaps next time.
