Usually handhelds such as these, gameboys, atari lynx etc... have no region encoded onto them as they have their own screen built in. I know the older handheld's allow you to play multi regional games, I would say 98% positive that USA version will play UK games. Games consoles such as PS3 and XBOX 36O have region chips inside as the tv's in diferent regions play at a different Hz level hence why these are regioned.
Hope this sort of helps you.
Why not try www.amazon.co.uk ???

Because amazon.com is two thirds of the price!
but if its bought from the USA you have a USA warranty, so if you have problems you need to take it back the USA...
Shipping to UK and customs may eat into price savings too.
Be aware that the power supplies are very different over there.
I have a Japanese DS and with an power adapter that are easily available, work with no problems, will also work with a powered USB lead so can be hooked up to laptop etc to recharge.
