I know there will be many of you who, like me, will have spent years looking for the right foundation. I had found the perfect one many years ago, only for Lancome to discontinue it and fail to replace it with anything halfway decent.
Anyhoo, I went to a salon in Hereford the other day for a consultation and she did a patch test to determine whether I'd have an allergic reaction, yada yada, then before I left, she let me sample some foundation called Lycogel. Well, it's absolutely incredible. It provides amazing coverage and it's the stuff they apply after you've had a chemical peel or any kind of laser treatment. It's mineral based but doesn't block pores and gives a dewy look so you don't really look like you're wearing anything.
It's not cheap at £49.50, but it is the best stuff I've ever come across and thus is worth the hefty price tag IMO. Just thought I'd share that with you, in case you're looking for something along those lines.
zzxxee, I'm prone to anaemia, so I get pale too at times. The foundation she applied was perfect for my skin tone and when she handed me the mirror, it was honestly like looking at myself 10 years ago. I was so excited, I nearly wet myself.
Thanks Nom, I have terrible trouble getting foundation too - I've tried loads and I'm always disappointed. The latest one I got was £31 which is a Chanel Pro Lumiere (sp?), it's quite good but doesn't last all day.
I don't mind paying a bit more for a decent foundation. I'll have to sweet talk my husband into letting my get one lol. Where can you get this foundation by the way? Thanks
Just been researching it and it does sound amazing! What's the ivory one like? I have a pale complexion and was wondering if it's suitable. You can get testers for £5 at pulsebeauty.co.uk - I might have to try that first before investing £50!
Hi Miss C... I am getting mine from Beautiful Spirit in Hereford. If you go to Lycogel's website and contact them, I'm sure they'll tell you all the stockists in your local area.
The lady did say it would be better if I used some transluscent powder on it, so I'll probably buy one of those when I go back and get the foundation.
Thank you. Think I'm gonna order the 3 little samples from the pulse beauty website first just to see which colour I am (I always find that a nightmare as I'm pale too but when I put a little bit of fake tan on, it's obviously far too light). Never mind.
Thanks though :) I love any make up recommendations!
I received my three samples of this foundation from Pulsebeauty today & I have to say it's not anything like as good as Estee Lauder's Doublewear which is about £24 a bottle. Have you tried Doublewear NM?
I find all Estee Lauder products too heavy and scented for me. I guess it all depends on your skin type. I find their lipsticks too greasy for me, not that I wear lipstick these days.
