Bit like the doors on my old car - the dealership told me that the hinges were dodgy on the driver's door and it would cost £400 to sort them. They were still hanging on in there when I scrapped the car 10 years later.
Always get a second or third opinion.

I did tigger, some people might just nod and go , 'Oh go on then do the job please' but not me I don't like being taken for an eejit especially by blokes who think i'm a dumb blonde,
I've learn't the hard way. Many years ago my old boiler stopped working and I called out someone from the Yellow Pages. He came round and robbed me out of £50 for looking at it and telling me it would cost me £1500 to get a new one. The £50 was just for the callout charge and he wasn't even here for 30 minutes which is what they charge upwards of 30 mins. Did get a new boiler in the end for £600.
Was the company anything to do with tyres? like K.F.

Yes I know that's what i did, I've put off getting anything done until someone i trusted could look at it, I;'d have looked myself but I don;t fancy lying down on the ground messing about under a car as it's just not me : (
Ask family/friends if they can recommend a garage. Word soon gets round if there is just one customer ripped off.

I just go to dealers for the service stamp. A mates garage does the major post service (if needed) work at a fraction of the cost.
