I do that often and don't give it a thought, it's my nature to put myself last having been brought up as one of 4 and having had 3 kids and put them first, still do actually.

of course I would put myself out to help someone however, if they continually abused my good nature I would certainly have a cut off point.

I don't believe in being a martyr to anything so no, I wouldn't. I would do any of those things as a friend, daughter, sister or lover and I would not see it as putting myself out or not getting something from it. I would not allow a friend, sister, parent or lover to take the mick, life is too short.
