After reading both articles I have to say that I am sad more than angry.

Oliver should have had a few good years left and it is sad that he has been murdered and his family traumatised.

The fact that in this day and age there are still vicious scum around terrorising humans and non-humans makes me sad too.
i used to have a link to a report that stated that they start with animals then progress on to children or adult humans

DrF - thanks - Oliver looked like a lovely cat, mine are the same age, words fail me.
We should steralise people caught doing things like this, before they start breeding.
i agree B00. DrF - such a report's summation would not surprise me in the least.
Yes - DrF I think that I have read a similar article. As you say Boxtops - I really don't have the vocabulary to express my feelings towards people like this scumbag.

It wasn't just a lash out at the cat, it was a sustained and brutal attack that he felt proud about and he felt the need to actually brag about it to the world. Bah!

I am off to turf Frankie off my bed - he just puts on his best pussy cat glare - and then do my sudoku puzzles.

At the best ,they'll be teaching their future spawn that things like this is acceptable, at worst.....
DrF, you're right. criminal profiling shows that many murderers start out killing animals.
He seems to be as stupid as he is cruel. Is there a section of Facebook specially reserved for idiots like him?
poor frankie beds were invented for cats and taken over by humans
i expect he will have come from an underpriviledged back ground or some such excuse will be made for him , he will get a slap on his wrist and will be allowed to carry on his life, its time we had some proper punishment instead of all these do gooders with their human rights etc prison is no punisment any more its like a holiday camp
Too late for the unfortunate cat now. I am past angry now and saddened that this young man is going to be inflicted on Society for goodness knows how long. It is bad enough that someone would hurt another creature in a fit of rage, but then to boast about it publicly is beyond comprehension. I am absolutely baffled by this.
Yes, the initial reaction is to condemn.
DrF is also correct in saying that reports link this behaviour to worse scenarios in later life, but I have also read that the reason this happens is often because the child was themselves abused. Maybe this will lead to one (or both) of the child's parents being charged with abuse, but maybe it will be difficult to prove in court if it happened several years ago.
sorry gen2, but you seem to be showing signs of saying "awww, he didn't mean it, it's his upbringing see...."

Well, sorry, but rollocks to that- he deserves punishment, and I hope somewhere along the line he suffers something similar to what he dished out to that poor cat.
