Microwave turning problem

The turntable on our Panasonic microwave will turn round on its own, but if you put any weight on it at all, like a microwave dish with food in it, it won't turn.I thought it might be the roller ring, so replaced it, but still the same problem.
Any ideas gratefully received.

Probably the connection between the motor and the plastic spindle/adapter on the base. You could probably repair it.
It could even be a small belt that you could find a replacement for.

I had this problem which was caused by the little wheels on the roller ring seizing and flats wearing on the bottom of the wheels. You can buy new rings if needed.
